Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 29, Part 1910
"Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting." OSHA Section 157, Paragraphs g.1 & 2 "The employer shall provide the education required... upon initial employment and at least annually thereafter." |
Video Based Classroom training with an experienced fire extinguisher trainer / technician. The classroom portion includes a short video by The National Fire Protection Association and an overview by our instructor. We cover various types of fires, extinguishers, proper use of equipment, do's and don'ts and your specific company policies pertaining to fire situations and employee fire response. This program is meant to be simple and to the point. We welcome employee questions and involvement. Each employee will also be given a test to take along with the video. These can then be placed in their employee files as proof of training.
Hands on training will take place after the classroom session. All Safe supplies everything you need including fire extinguishers and expert assistance so each employee will have an opportunity to extinguish a live fire. This is the most important portion of the training. Once a person experiences the heat of an actual fire with "hands on" use of an extinguisher they will have gained valuable experience memorable for years to come. If the time ever comes to use an extinguisher in a "real life situation" this training is priceless. Each employee who participates in the hands on use of fire extinguishers will receive a "Certificate of Completion" which meets OSHA requirements.
